winter tire size?

I'm trying to figure out if I can run this size tire for my legacy. The stock size is 215/55/16, I found a set that's 225/60/16 and I think I can run that but I'm not sure. Anyone have an outback that can chime in? I think the outback runs that size

measure diameter of the 2 sizes, either in person or on the tech pages at tirerack.com

if overall diameter diff is 5% or less, you won't have issues with confusing abs sensors or getting major speedo error

plus, the larger size should be more resistant to bashing curbs! :bootyshake:

Looks like a 1.3 inch difference, which is exactly %5 of 26.6. looks like i'm golden!! thanks fellas

make sure theres no rubbage on the rear spring perches

it'll be a lil 'lifted' look to the Leggo (~3/4" or circa 14 mm)

I upsized from 205/55-16 to 225/50-16 (basically same diameter increase) on my 05 rex wag with zero probbies

caveat: wider tires put a premium on alignment, fatties want basically zero toe-in at rear. stock specs (minor toe @ R) tends to eat up back tires early s by feathering inside edges
