Hi guy/gals,

I have a couple items for sale that I just received from Subaru today. I thought I was going to use them when I bought them but it turns out I'm going to just return them if no one here wants them.

Click the hyperlinks that are underlined to see the pic of that item.

Valve Stem caps SOLD TO LGHT SBR

Fog protectors SOLD TO ME (changed my mind sorry!)

The prices reflect a $20% discount because that's how much the re-stocking fee is if I send them back. Either way I lose a little but this way someone gains something.

Thanks!

Fog light protectors still available! They take about 10-20 minutes to install an require no drilling or anything crazy like that. Someone's got to want these for their 08+ Impreza/WRX.

They've even got fancy white Subaru logos on them! Someone buy these!

I can't find a good photo of these, can you send me a pic of them? I may want them?

I have them on my car. Really nice fit, the also seem to refocus the fog lights for a better pattern. The only issue I have with them is they didn't protect my fog lights. I just broke another set. It seems that the fog lights will break in the summer without the protectors, but in the winter they will break regardless, which makes me think that there really isn't so much of a rock issue and there is more of a "WE REALY WANT YOUR MONEY SO WE DESIGNED SH!TTY GLASS FOGLIGHTS THAT BREAK EVERY 15,000 MILES" issue. I think that when they initially turn on, they initially heat up so much that they cause the glass to crack if you do it outside in the cold. But that's just a guess, as far as the protectors go, I would use them anyway becuase they refocus the light and you no longer need to worry about rocks, just everything else.

Interesting to know this. The only reason why I didn't mount them is because I was not sure if they would even protect anything. It seems we're darned if we do, darned if we don't. By the way, does debris and grime get stuck between the fog light and the cover? Just curious..

I'd love to see a pic of them on your car.

Yeah, I get dirt between the Lenses and the protectors, not bad though. Clean it once every 6 months and your good. I keep them on there for the improved beam pattern they offer. Just out of Curiosity, why aren't you using this stuff. Its some of the easiest stuff to install that Subaru makes. The lense protectors take all of 10 minutes to install the the valve covers.... well that's just self explanatory. Did you think it would Rice up the car or something?

At first glance I thought the covers looked REALLY good and not rice at all. I guess I just thought that they would be a pain in the DONKEY to install and once installed, would just collect dirt and cause more issues than they are designed to help.

Maybe I should put them on the car...Hmmm

Iboc,

Do they seem to stay on the car pretty well? No problems with the adhesive? If I did put them on the car, any tips?

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I had them installed by a mechanic with my last pair of fog lights because I figured they would go in from the inside. When I installed my HIDs with Dan I had to remove and re-install them, which is how I found out how simple they really are. How they work is not really obvious and I wish that Subaru would give better directions because more people would use them. Then again, I still think they want more profits from Fog Lights so why would they offer proper instructions? People would stop buying fog lights if they did that! LoLz.

Anyway, they are very simple to install. Put the clear 3M adhesive plastic on the left and right sides of the fog light, it is designed to protect the paint from the metal part of the fog light protectors. Assemble the lense and hardware as the directions state, you can probably figure it out without the instructions. Once you have the lense and the hardware LOOSELY assembled, just rotate the little metal tabs so that they face out toward the edges of the fog light hole in the bumper. I thought that the protectors clip on to the lense, but I was wrong, they grip the lip of the bumper inside the recessed foglight hole. So basically you pop them in, and tighten the screws. The screws will splay out the little metal clips, just catching the inside of the bumper and gripping it. They were a little tighter when my mechanic installed them compared to when I put them back so I so you may need to play with the screw position in its hole to get a tight fit. Mine jiggle a little when I push on them, but they don't come off. Never lost one yet and its been about a year since I installed them. The only thing that took one off the car was my Deer collision in April. But I just picked it up off the pavement and had it re-installed by the body shop, no problems. They fit flush with the bumper and as such they are designed to fit a specific side with a top and bottom, so dont mix them up or it will leave you scratching your head. They are labeled, have fun!

Hey man! Thanks for the detailed information about the protectors! I had no idea it's such an easy install. When I saw all the little screws/parts I thought...ohhhh noooo...

Stupidly, I didn't think much past that and just figured I'd sell them. Once this crappy weather clears up I'll wash the car and give it a go. Thanks again!
