Ive never seen the web show before. He brings up a lot of important things when doing car builds.
The platform is built on handling, so they didn't much with it too much. Poly all around + KW's are what I'd recommend for a ground pounder and they did that.
Good suspension = better and more consistent turning. Better tires = betterer turning. The shop didnt slap on a turbo and big bars and call it a day. They actually went about building a nice proper car.
The frs/brz has the right stuff to be the next miata.
I haven't driven one, but I want to see if the front suspension is broken like stock subarus are.
