i will assume you meant "forester springs on a vw"...... i am hoping that the springs will sit in the vw spec struts, that's why i want to look at the forester springs so i can see if they are even close to my vw springs and if they are i can try to use them....thanks for the luck wish...

my guess is that it is the tranny...if it was the turbo you would think you could hear it spool throughout the rev range regardless of what gear its in....i guess i'll have to do a little research on the matter....
