Well, a quarter million miles of being beat on has finally taken its toll on this transmission. Grinds into gear, reverse switch no longer works, shifter bushings shot. Figured I'd get a feeler for what 5 speeds are out there. Just bought a parts car so I'm not looking to spend too much...

if maine cycle ever re-opens their ware house i know they have some magna parts that you could get for a fraction of the cost. otherwise for a bike that old sometimes its cost effective to scrounge craigslist for a whole parts bike.

I got a solid work-free motor and a 1998 outback parts car (frame is shot) that will work in this car if someone wants to fix that car up for a profit, if it has no rust its worth fixing up.  combine both cars and someone can get it going much cheaper.
