    Subie brake problem....

Mechanic's stethescope. You hold a piece of coolant line up to your ear and point it at vacuum lines until you hear one...

    Hesitation under 3k

Another possiblity is that the knock sensor is on it's way out. Had that one happen on both our Foresters. When the ECU pulls timing, the car *really* feels dead. If you floor it, the power picks up when it hits about 3k rpm... Definitely hook it up to a scanner and pull any pending codes...

    Welders stand down!

Ask 'em if they can do a 2007 spec cage instead. ;D (Just kidding, but for a while it seemed like the cage rules were changing pretty fast - to weld-in only, then gussets and then sill bars, IIRC) Sorry to hear it's been such a money pit. Hopefully a circle-track guy will buy the shell, and it...

Oil from Spark plug hole?! Am I in trouble??!

It's pretty easy. On a Forester you take out the washer bottle (or intake plumbing) then undo the plug wires. Drop the splash guard, then IIRC it's 5 10mm bolts (might have been torx, I don't remember exactly). Excess oil will run out when you remove the cover - have a pan ready to catch it...

    Welders stand down!

Last time I read that section, the entire cage had to be DOM mild steel tubing ( that covers quite a few alloys) unless it was an unmodified FIA cage.

    TSD/RallyX suspension for a Forester?

Yah - I'm not going the WRX/STI take-off route unless I can scare up some top-hat extenders (think 3" thick camber plate) to make up the extra length, and figure out how much "real world" suspension travel I'd be losing.

    TSD/RallyX suspension for a Forester?

Thanks guys. Yeah, tired is probably the word: It's a slow gradual change, so I didn't really notice it, but I drove my GF's Forester the other day that has 50,000 less miles on it than mine, and it handled noticeably different/better. AFAIK, WRX struts are 3" shorter. Interesting - looks...

    TSD/RallyX suspension for a Forester?

It does, but the strut tubes and travel are a lot shorter.

    TSD/RallyX suspension for a Forester?

Hey guys. I searched by didn't find much... For a SF Forester (1998-2002) So my stock struts have 150,000 miles on them (and probably 10,000 miles of hauling over forest roads) them and they're getting kind of squishy. What's out there that can handle maybe 150% of the stock spring rate, can...

My knees hurt just from looking at the dash bar. Aside from that though, looks great! Congrats!

    Favorite Beers!!!

Shipyard Prelude, and the Ringwood Old Thumper they brew under license. Another vote for Fin Du Monde, though I like Maudite (Evil) better - actually, I don't think Unibroue makes anything that isn't excellent.

Crazy zany question or Incredible invention?

A little late, but have someone hold the throttle plate open and spray carb cleaner into the intake while it's running. Plenty of smoke (all white though).
