Hey All,
About 3 Months ago my 05 RS developed an odd little rattle. Then...the gold flecks in the oil. And for those who remember my Yellow WRX...yes, the car had oil, and yes, it was changed regularly. Anyway, After verification that it was the rod bearing I changed the engine out for an 06 2.5i engine. In most ways they are identical, however the 06's had Variable Valve Lift. The engine runs fine, however it's slightly underpowered due to the fact that the system isn't being used, and it was set up to have it. As the 05's were a change over year (had the Direct throttle body, but did not have the VVL), the question is how different is the information inlet into the 06 ECU from the 05 ECU? I'm curious as to wether all of the dash information (side plug in to the ecu)plug ins are identical, hence, if the ECU's could be swapped out with no cutting of wires. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks!
