06 forester xt issues

I had a trouble code pulled today on my forester for no speedo. It came up as P0502, vehicle speed sensor low speed. After I had been home for a few hours I left to go to the hardware store and the radiator fan in my car was running as soon as I started it. Temp gauge was reading full cold. Fan stayed on entire trip. I could use some insight here. It seems like when I used to hook my AP up to my old wagon and the fans woould run when in diagnostic mode. I am really not impressd right now and could use some help.

did you have the defroster set to full defrost? this will also turn on the AC, which makes fans run in constant mode

No defroster on, I looked there first thing. Thanks. There is a chance that the fan may be on due to trouble code for sensor, I am looking into that.

So I changed out the speedo sensor and no luck. Damnit, there is a noreaster coming and my forester is garbage. What next? Time to shell out some more cash I guess. Great.
