i was searching the web and found this 06 impreza RS on evergreen and since i am planning on upgrading mine i was wondering if anyone has any input, feedback or other comments for me. they are asking $13,522 and has 21,434 miles. one owner, 5 speed. slap a wing on that and tint the windows and its good to go..

Looks like a good price to me

as a DD this car makes WAY more sense than a WRX

cheaper intial purchse, bettAr gass mileage, and insurance rates to love compared to turbo sube

still you gots 170 hp, awd, close ratio 5MT, 4 wheel discs and limited slip rear diff.

Oh theres way more you can do with an RS.

I have an 07 wagon.

tint this week

Sti springs

WRX rear sway bar

Kart boy end links

Kart boy shifter

02 WRX mid pipe resonator adapted

Prodrive axle back

GClark found a nice Injen intake

he also has a sick exhaust

17s

Drive it. You'll love the feel of the sedans. Sturdier feel than the wagons, imho.

If you can afford the overall costs of the WRX, then go with the WRX.

Why?

I think if you drive them both it'll be as clear as night and day.

Imo it's not what you get with the RS, it's what you don't get.

(And what you'll wish you had got, otherwise!)

That's a heavy, awd car and with 170hp it's not exactly nimble.

My 2wd 2009 Accord coupe has a fairly anemic 190hp, and it's clearly an Accord, not a race car.

Clearly, 170hp in the awd Impreza platform is a mutt, pickup-wise...

As a DD the RS certainly more placid than a WRX, and since it's not forced-induction, it's obviously not as much fun.

Since both cars are physically identical, imo it's the fun quotient of the WRX that makes it the clear winner.

If you have any questions, PM me. I am EG's resident gearhead, just ask Carter, Doug Miller, Nate, etc... Let me know what you are looking to accomplish and I will do my best to get it done.

I also have an '07 wagon with nearly no go-fast extras and I'll admit that there are plenty of times I would love to have the turbo and tighter handling of a WRX. However, for a family car and everyday driver, not to mention the extra $$ in my bank account, the 2.5 is great! In addition, you can tell from the posts that there are plenty of mods for a base 2.5 to make it a lot of fun to drive!

Not too shabby, and well, we'll take the AWD. While the others flounder in the snow storms we have fun!

I guess you can say the Impreza is the FASTEST AWD under $20k. Frig that FWD crap.
