1998 outback sub placement

This is just a couple ideas i have floating around and want some outside opinions

First of all i have been thinking of putting a single 12" in the way back of the car, securing it properly, but to get the amp wires to the back is what might be my problem, due to ive never wired up for an amp before. My car has a cigarette lighter in the tote area, is it possible to use that for the power wire for the amp? I wasnt going to try it anyway but if it would work and not cause fire, then id do it in a heartbeat

Second option is to have the sub seatbelted in the back seat and the amp possibly under my drivers seat, only reason for thinking that is for ease of wiring, (ie power wire and remote wire, and i wont be like some people and run the wire through the fender, i will actually bring it through the bulkhead of the car, the way it shluld be done)

Any and all options, questions, ideas are all welcome

I think the seatbelted sub is a bad idea. You don't want that sub just floating around in your car.

I'm almost certain that a decent sub will pull more power through the amp than the 12V lighter-plug can handle. Read this while researching switched power circuits to tap for my driving light relay.

um.... put it in the back. running wires that far isn't difficult. i don't know where you're located, but if it's around oxford or auburn i'd wire your car for you
