Not sure if anyone would be interested here, but may make a good beater for someone or if they need another car. I want to start this forester build so this one needs to fund it.

1999 Subaru outback. 214,000 miles

Have a 122k long block with good headgaskets great compression sitting in the trunk, just needs to be cleaned up.

2.5 L dohc engine

maintenance before installation, modified with newer parts.

Oil came out very nice and consistent.

Gas mileage is right on par, 25-28.

from running the engine the headgaskets have failed. It's still being driven and the coolant leak is not that severe.

LOTS of spare parts

The rest of the car:

Drives straight at all speeds steering fairly tight for its age.

Brakes good, sat for a while so the rotors are slightly uneven but they were replaced last year, rebuilt rear calipers. Stops straight and smooth at high speed.

Transmission shifts smooth.

Interior is good, no tears or damage but could use a thorough cleaning.

Good nokian snow tires are negotiable in sale.

Remote unlock works!

Factory tow hitch.

To do list:

Needs rust work, previous owner used rivets to fix and I plan to cut out every bit I can find and weld in New steel.

Subframe appears solid (reason why I bought the car)

Needs rear wiper motor and interior panel,

Front struts make noise but handles fine

Parking brake

Cv boot is torn

Noisy rattling exhaust but solid

Dents and scratches and bumper loose at one corner

A few small quirks, all easy fixes.

it's currently a daily driver but I'm open to offers.

I've ridden in this thing. It's actually a lot nicer than it looks.

the original motor (timing belt but did not bend valves... wtf?) from the outback is going in this one.
