I'm looking into redoing my exhaust from the headers back on the rs... but I need help... I just want it to have that amazing boxer engine rumble. I've had people say to get unequal length headers and that will really bring out the rumble.. BUT I can't find any for an 01 rs

where should I look? Or does anyone know anyone that would have any for sale? and I've been looking into the rest of the exhaust but can't find anything for an rs.. high flow cat should help a lot to? Please help and point me in the right direction.. thanks.

tsudo header, pretty sure that's what its called. it has a track pipe so no cat but it also has a built in o2 sensor anti check engine light thing. This will prob be the one I get for my girlfriends 02 RS. UEL, Stainless steel, all the right stuff, so I just hope the quality is right. Other than that borla? but a borla does not have a cat pipe replacement only the header section.

Tsudo headers are right. They may be a SHE DOG to install, they are ebay specials so you can't expect 100% fitment. Other than that, ceramic paint em, wrap em, and they should last you a while. Depending on how loud you want your car is your choice, go to rs25.com and search there. They have great threads for exhausts that are quiet or LOUD. I have the borla rep headers, which are pretty nice (have a leak, but oh well) and I also have an STi catback. Its not overly loud, but it still has the rumble. Be careful with the exhaust law and good luck!

ive also heard tsudo or borla / stormung hi flow cat (either option) with a sti cat back sounds amazing. another couple cat backs you could look into would be cobb, stormung, magnaflow, borla. They all seem quiet but will give you the sound difference from stock with a nice aftermarket header system. if you go with a fart can and a header your going to break open peoples ear drums and serve them for dinner lol.

on the note of UEL vs EL, if you want the famious suby rumble then yes you want a UEL. If you want to sound like a riced out honda (but get maybe another couple horse) go EL. On a personal note the retarded sound you get is NOT NOT NOT worth going EL IMO, but that's just me!

My car has el, nobody makes uel for 2.5I. I have a dynomax stainless 2.5in muffler on a 2.25 in catback. No ricey sound (have resonator) deep and smooth. Uel headers and an axleback would give rumble, good sound, no rasp and be relatively quiet (this is subject to the quality of resonator)

Why does an RS need a downpipe?

I had an E-Bay header, stock cats, and STi axle-back on my 2000 RS. It could have been a little louder. I bet that set-up with a GReddy Evo II axleback would be nice. I have the GReddy on my WRX. It has a huge, ugly exhaust tip (5-6 inches) but I like the sound. Rumbly, not loud.

Hey thanks! I'm strongly considering this now... let me know how it sounds on your gfs car!
