Im dumb. What is the gear ratio in this? Im thinking my wife's 510 could really use some better gears. Hers are 3.90s right now,but its an open diff as well.

This is a limited slip 3.55. Technically its 3.545 but the scooby community calls them 3.55

That would be more what we're looking for. The blue Datty is getting a KA24DE soon,need some nice low gears to give it some grunt. Oh well,we'll keep looking...

04/05 Foz XT 5-speed and Leg XT auto rear diffs are 4.44 with viscous limited slip.

Wrx front diff is 3.90, center diff is 1.1:1, so that puts the rear diff at 3.54

3.545 techically

As far as I know (I'll look thru the spec data at work) all the WRXs have this final drive ratio. The 2011+s might different. I'll check, but I doubt it.

If you want to get really technical about it.. The pinion has 11 teeth, and the ring gear has 39 teeth.

39 divided by 11 is 3.545454545 repeated forever.

This is why it works having a 3.9 front diff and 1.1 center diff, you get 3.9/1.1, multiply the top and bottom by 10 and you get 39/11, the exact ratio of the rear diff.

It still doesn't make sense why subaru does it.
