97 legacy gt catches going into 3rd

So whats happening is when you accelerate, like merging on the highway, shifting into 3rd kind of catches. You have to pull the shifter back and like an inch or so go over a bit more then into third (like you have to go around something). It shifts fine if you aren't moving. Now the car has 135k and the shifter is a bit sloppy as expected. But I've had 4 other high mileage 5 speed legacies, they may have been sloppy, but I've never experienced this. 

I want to replace all the bushings and shifter knuckle, but the car is still under the '30 day bumper to bumper warranty' so I have an appointment for them to check it out friday before I mess with anything. But I just thought I'd see if anyone else has experienced this before.

Sounds like bushings or even a worn pin. Mystery shifts

I used to have an Impreza and I skipped 4th gear for 2 years of driving it because of the same reason.  3rd gear is a little more important tho I think
