A friend of mine is looking in to buying a subaru

I have a friend who is looking to buy a 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon with 99,000

Besides normal maintenance what should he look out for and ask about?

Are there any weird quirks with the 2006?

I would look out for any bad oil that may be leaking, check for any major rust damage, listen to see if there are any hiccups when starting, etc.... That's my take.

I am sure people that have more experience in such can give you better feedback.

probably see if the timing belt and water pump has been done yet. its supposed to be done every 100k miles or so, and can be around 600$ to do it yourself or more if someone else does it..

+1 to make sure timing belt and water pump has been taken care of, that can be a costly fix it it hasn't already.
