Airbox silencer delete

Has anyone tried this mod? I understand that taking out the airbox silencer gives you a little more noise without causing problems.

Any experiences with it?

IIRC Evil Jeff did this.

The result is like you said, more noise.

Yeah, mine had it done.. you could here the tubro more.. and may of spooled 100 or less rpm earlier. mine actually had the replacement piece so it keeps the stock 'cold air duct' together

I did this to my Rex. A little bit more noise and unnoticeable if any HP gains. I just like to "hear" my turbo!

Yup... you'll hear the turbo more. I took it out... and put it back in losing skin on my arm reaching in there to pull it out.

i did it on my o6 wrx and just did it on the 07 sti i bought yesterday. why have all that extra space for air to go. they sell an elbow on ebay i believe.

Free mods are the best ones. It helps steer you away from a useless BOV anyway

I took the snorkel out of my Leg wag. It actually feels a little sluggish at lower rpm.
