Hey guys/gals i'm pretty new to this forum but not new to the Subaru community! Let me introduce you to my baby, Snow white. She's been through many fazes in her lifetime. Enjoy the aspen white goodness! And i encourage anyone who shares the same passion for white subarus to post up some pics!
the subes white is abit different, I still think it is the j-tin underneath it. A thicker metal would not do the posphorescents.. about the only bonus to staying cheap I guess.
blurry photo, some of my first.. summer 2004.1987 subaru...7/86 on the door, Car is the last of four headlights, a DL and carbed, no power steering. no extra trims, no gauges (I hooked up a direct line oil gauge from my hot rod) It glowed in fogs and weathers. As it turned out, rustoleum did the same thing for the subaru only...just acted as rustoleum on 18 gauge and thicker elsewise.
then I found, even on dark subes, just a light color primer does the mystery glow. this one has primer with silicate anisotropics (stops warm dimples on thin metals)
here is my last white one, a 1993. I decided to use top secret coating aviation paint.. again it glowed. Above is simply factory paint...could spot it a mile away.
Those are some fine lookin subies! I love the OBS (it for sure counts!).
On a side note, i just installed a carbonfiber exhaust shroud on Saturday. I'm sure anyone with an aftermarket exhaust and a white car can understand the pain of your bumper turning brown from your exhaust. I'll post a pic later. It looks mighty fine.
