All in the past 12 years....
Just bought a house a year ago, and while the heated bay in the garage makes it nice to work on cars, it makes finding the time and money to work on them more challenging. In my vast experience of car ownership, nothing delivers the combination of initial quality and performance as well as affordable upgrades as well as any of the turbo Subarus. They are kind of like the GSX-R 750, everyone had them because they were the best performance per dollar you could get.
I have most tools needed to tear apart a Subaru and when I have the time, that's what I'm doing, as long as there's cold beer to be had. I'm not opposed to helping people work on their cars, or even loaning out my garage bay for a few hours as long as all of my tools are put back when the job is done.
Current mods to my STi are:
Dual dump style DP
SPT exhaust
No name CAI
No name TMIC
Boost gauge
Killer Bee Oil Pickup
Tactrix Tuning Cable
My very own home brewed tune
Future mods listed in the order I'd like to get them:
Headers (Actually coming off my 08 WRX, the new owner is changing to EL headers)
Window Tint
Coilovers (or lowering springs, because the STi dampening seems good enough)
Swaybars and endlinks (front and rear)
Short throw shifter
CF driveshaft
Strut bars and chassis brace
StopTech Brake Pads
850cc injectors
Stock location GT30 or Blouch 20G XTR
FMIC
Lightweight flywheel, better clutch
Shortblock
PnP heads
So yeah that's the plan, and those that know me, know it will probably happen just like I've laid it out.
