Synthetic doesn't "clean" anything but it will tend to leak more through leaky seals.

The dispersents and detergents in an oil like amsoil tend to be higher then that of conventional oils. This will allow the oil to remove and suspend more impurities left in the engine. It took 2 or 3 oil changes at 3000 miles for my oil to look ok. First few times it was just plain used up and nasty. This is where the leaks are uncovered. Each company has their own blend of additives. Just like fuel, each car tends to favor one brand over another.

well, I do drive the car hard. I autocross in the summer and I like to give it some one and a while. long trips are once and a while, but they happen. and I have been doing my homework too. plainly it is better in every way compared the regular stuff. definitely worth it. next change ill put some in and see the results. you guys have been very helpful and your input is greatly appreciated.
