Yeah me too! The mpg's im not sure about, but I can feel a bit more power. Not a ton, but enough!

I drilled a hole in the pipe the same size as the old one and then just used a rubber grommet. Not too hard at all

Nice diy intake! I made one for mine when I had my RS as well. So much cheaper than an Injen or other name brand intake.
