E-brake question

So i finally got around tinkering with the RS today. Last update you guys had was that the rear wheels weren't turning. Not so true now, i ended up taking the rear rotors off and the wheels turn just fine now. So the problem was with the e-brake getting stuck or something.

Before i put everything back what should i inspect/replace/check so when everything is back together i wont run into the same problem...

Also what could've caused stuck e-brake?

a fairly common subie malady is frozen brakes after being parked a while

most often it's ice between pads/rotors after the car has been parked after driving in a snowstorm

the brakes get warm in such trips, then when parked the warm brakes melt snow crusted onto and around everything. when this freezes, the cars don't like to move.

e-brake is the other culprit. when the ebrake shoes get frozen by ice or rust. try breaking it free in reverse first. either auto or manual.

if that doesn't work you either got demons or need sombody with a tow strap.
