This Stuff ROCKS! I haven't cleaned the wheels on the miata in almost 2 years. and nearly the same for the WRX's wheels (aside from a spray and wash product)

The WRX wheels are in pretty sad shape due to gravel and the paint bubling all over the place. but they look better than they have in years!

I bought this stuff to give the BBS wheels from the GLI a heavy bath before being repainted and after I saw how good it worked on them (sorry no pix) I tried the rest of the wheels I had around.

the one bottle will do 3 sets of wheels and the brakes as well. I had enough left to clean my aluminum drip tray (awesome!)

this stuff is nasty, definitely wear gloves (seriously it burns) and wear atleast sunglasses.

but holy shiz. if you have burnt on brake dust OMG try this stuff.

hrmmmm...wonder how this stuff would work at cleaning salt corrosion encrustation on alloy bits under the hood? engine blocks, rad cores, trans cases etc:confused:

It does a number on the white corrosion on unfinished cast parts. but it didn't to much to clean up the valve cover on the Miata. but I didn't let it sit very long either.

be careful tho. it ate the rag I was using.

it started life that day as a washcloth that got bleached by accident.

it ended life in pretty sad shape.

 
had some mother's spray on wheel cleaner that sounds similar. it was seriously nassty stuff, but cleaned like mad.

smelled like galactically concentrated Sweet Tarts, heh the dog got a whiff and ran off shaking his head.

so...apply mindfully under the hood! wear glasses and don't sniff.

 
This stuff has a couple kinds of acid in it.

Sulfuric and somethign else. I will have to look on the bottle again.

I heard that Muratic (sp) acid works incredibly for cleaning aluminum. and apparently that is what they sell you to clean concrete with. (like before you put down epoxy garage floor paint.

 
I have used Black Magic wheel cleaner and then put some Mothers Mag wheel polish on to protect the wheels.

you probably clean yours more than once every two years tho right?

(mine were cleaned aproximately 30K miles ago) and you couldn't scrape the shiz off in some spots.

I think the muratic acid is also used for adjusting the p.h in your pool

We use muratic acid to get calcium deposits out of the plumbing in the marine heads (the toilets) on the boat I work on. Its pretty serious stuff. Gets all smokey when you pour it into the bowl...

 
does it say anything about being safe with rubber and plastics? if yes then it'd be worth trying on engines.

 
Used this fine product today and all I can say is WOW, it works that good. Took the brake dust and other crap off with no problem. Deffinitly wear gloves and eye protection also try not to breathe it in either. Plus a million for this stuff!
