I wouldn't. Chances are the EGR nut won't come loose. I've swapped the evap stuff around, it's not a big deal.

Hmmm. What would be needed as far as tools are concerned, I'm gonna assume a hoist is needed. Plus swapping the evap stuff and the timing belt. Probobly should do the clutch while I'm in there. I've also got the super loose shifter problem, but I'm assuming replacing that bushing isn't all that difficult compared to the swap.

Shifter has nothing to do with engine swap. That's a separate project completely.

Yes, replace the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing. Have the flywheel surfaced if it's glazed or has hot spots. Otherwise just scuff it up.

Evap lines are really easy to swap, don't sweat it. Just make the vacuum on the new engine look like the old one. Just swap the hoses over.

You need 10, 12, 14, 17 mm sockets. I think it's a 22mm socket for the crank pully, I just use a 3/4", I think. I think the cam bolts are 19mm. A wobbly will help get the bottom DS bell housing nut off. An extension is needed too. You'll want a breaker bar, C clamp for compressing the new timing belt tensioner, butterfly paper clips (the black triangle ones with chrome handles) are extremely helpful for holding the timing belt on the DS cam gears when hanging the belt.

A wobbly. 14mm wrench. C clamp for compressing the new tensioner.

You're probably gonna have to replace some of the exhaust studs as they often come out attached to the nuts, just replace the stud and nut. You'll need exhaust gaskets, valve cover gaskets, grommets, and plug tube seals. Cam seals and crank seal will come with the timing belt kit if you get the right one, but you'll want to go to the dealer for the oil pump o-ring. Also some anerobic sealer to reseal the pump. Also, replace the spark plugs and wires while the engine is out.

Oh, also you'll probably need new hose clamps, the stock ones on the radiator and heater core hoses suck. I usually just cut them off and put real hose clamps on.

Also, replace the thermostat and thermostat gasket along with waterpump. If you get the metal pump gasket use that, otherwise just use gasket maker.

That's all I can think of for now... I'm sure there's more, but that'll get you started. Fairly disorganized list, but that's how my mind works. I've had a lot of these engines out and apart. Feel free to ask me any questions you want.
