Hey from Southern Maine!

Hey guys I recently purchased a 2005 Subaru Forester XT with the 5 spd tranny. I am coming from the VW/Audi scene so all of this is new to me! Where are the reputable shops here in Maine? I am looking to get my 105k service done soon but I would like to get the Gates racing belt kit with a Cobb lightweight crank pulley done while everything is apart. Is there a tuning shop that could order the parts and do the install? Or a shop that would do the install if I provide the parts? The car is also throwing a P0011 CEL. Turbo is real strong but oil change and timing service is due soon. Anybody dealt with this code? Sorry for all the questions it's just all so new to me!

Welcome! Some of the pros/mechanics can probably chime in here, but I'd skip the lightweight pulley. You can read opinions in both favors all day online about it, but I really just didn't notice any difference when I spent the extra coin for a grimmspeed lightweight pulley on my old STi.

The P0011 CEL should be looked at as soon as possible; it references an AVCS problem, and can be caused by a lack of oil in your system, the timing belt slipping a tooth or the fact that subaru foolishly put little banjo filters that can tear and come out into your system.

I'm just spit-balling what little I know, though... But get it taken care of before it costs you a lot of money in repairs!!

(Here's some words on the code http://www.obd-codes.com/p0011)

Welcome! Go to Evergreen in auburn! I go there for all my work, but that's probably because my dad works there haha. They are pretty good about modified cars, a lot of the guys here go there for work.

Welcome friend. We have a few dedicated vendors on the forum that are local subaru techs, I am sure one of them will chime in soon. I am a former vw/audi scene guy as well so welcome to the winning team. None of that whining, jackass bullshit that mvws etc used to have.

You can say that again... I still have my VW, but I avoid all the VW forums unless it's to sell a part or something.

Welcome dude! I came from the Vw scene as well... needless to say the Subaru community is a lot better.
