Im topdeeni and Ithought I would join here. The Maine rwason for signing up here is to help find a local tuner and others that are into the same car as me.

I own (unfortunately) a modded to *** 06 STi. I am pretty sure I went to far with what I had did and am now stuck in the gremlin phase of the car and very unhappy with the person who did the work; part of my membership here is to find a way our from under this guy ASAP.

Every inch of my car was touched in some way. The engine is stage five and cranks close to 600 horises when it is feeling up to it... like I Said ...when it is feeling up to it. I think the biggest weakness of my car is the Deadbolt turbocharger, they have now evaporated and thier main page has a picture of a child molester... way to pick UR vendors there Topdeeni!

Eventually I Wall get this straightened out (perhaps with some help from peeps here) and be able to ride again.

Thank U for having me here, I am looking forward to meeting lots of kewl peeps.

Topdeeni...

welcome. first off, let me give you the obligatory "Give us Pictures!"

now, that that's out of the way, im sure we would all be very interested to hear a few more details in the mod and problem department.

as for your deadbolt turbo, they were a wonderful company, and were one of the few that really stood by their products. as for the home page, you can still get there by googling their products, however yes, someone did buy the rights to deadbolt. com and it seems they are using it for quite another purpose.

word has it, the companies owner is either in the hospital currently, or is having health problems of some kind. i dont have the exact details and could be incorrect.

anyways, welcome.

Lets start with a mod list of some sort to see what we are dealing with. Maybe some pics would be nice. Give us some details on these issues your having.

you've got a veteran "What was a thinking" modder in STInate here. I'm pretty sure we can help you out with issue you can throw at us. welcome aboard, we like interesting cars, and it looks like we just hit the jackpot

ROFL.. U may just have.

Here is some basic info on the modding of my car, edited as to not mention the party I am upset with. WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR HERE; I DO NOT want to sound like I am trashing this guy, like all people he has his fans and detractors, right now I am the latter as my car is still having the bugs sorted out of it; It is just bitter having to wait so long for a car and then have it fail as soon as I spend an entire day getting to it and driving it home; especially for the $$$$ I have into it

It is almost embarrasing knowing I can't go out and hammer my neighbors prelude with the fart can who insists it will take me to 100; I think my ATV can smoke that silly loode...

Also if this is the wrong forum to this in please feel free to have a moderator move this.

Sincerely,

me...

ps.. Oh yeah! the issued it decided to have is passing white smoke from the exhaust. It smells very gassy and I am slowly loosing my coolant level. I have only driven it a short distance while talking to the builder to try to see what was happening. I still get boost so we are confident the deadbolt unit is still in tact and the oil appears to be unpolluted...

balls back in anyone elses court

Some of U obviously spend a lot of time on the net. I have since added my car to the "garage" here along with a few pictures.

STinate...sir, yes sir that is my stage five. What would U like to know about it nesdies what U can read here?

Mark; No sir I did not putchase a stage 5 kit from them; This has been my dream car for many many years and I finally almost had the means to do it so I went for it. Xcelleration did all of the work and continues to work through a few of the gremlins we are finding. Again one of the biggest handicaps we are having is what happened to deadbolt.

Nate: After the Rotura's (they sent the next size up by mistake and let me keep them for no extra charge) those rims were one of I think four we could stuff under the fenders without rolling the rims.

& once again... I am not here to trash Xcelleration, just trying my best to work through certain issues and become part of Maines Subaru community...

well definately welcome. obviously there's plenty of info out there about xcelleration so we don't need to rehash everything.

we have a lot of infomation sources at our disposal that we can use to help out.

First, we have Evergreen Subaru working with us hand in hand. They are our go-to Subaru reps and can get oem and some aftermarket equip as well as give you some great info from experience from any subaru.

Second, we have M&A auto, who can do any of the out of control work on your car no matter how modded, and they do it for a great price. right now Nate's car is getting finished up by them, he went through some engine issues and needless to say that was a headache.

Third, we have Dent sport garage, the areas best open source tuners that can get all of your mods working together and running how they should. let us know what you're having problems with and i'm sure someone has an answer

ah ok, i read the issues. Mike at M&A had a modded sti and could probably give some input

I can't help but think that an absolutely horrid tune is damaging your innards. It probably needs to come apart and have some things taken care of...but it should also be towed to DSG or somewhere that it can be tuned properly.

Kinda what i was thinking. Running rich and a possible Head Gasket issue would explain smelling gassy and white smoke while loosing coolant.

But it looks like there has been some gas tank/pump work so the gassy smell could be related to that too.

Not to bash anyone's work, but i would definitely have another place look at it for a second opinion/fresh set of eyes in person.

Good luck topdeeni.

I thought that at first but this is something that just appeared, unless I am mistaken and tuning /software can undo itself... hahaha... is this stuff all windows based?

The gas smell is definately from the exhaust, I have already lived through an actual gas leak whilst someone tried to permanently mount a subwoofer to prevent it from rolling into said gas line work.

One thing I did read is "Second opinion" which is probably one of the primary reasons for me being at this site. It would also great to have somone locally that could work with my car; When the car was purchased I never EVER imagined myself relocating to Maine on a full time basis.

Mark UR correct, there is no need to rehash it all. Untimately I am not out to say bad things about people, I would really just like it if I could enjoy some time in the drivers seat of my car with the tunes bumpin' along

well, let me say welcome... also wherr might you be located, so we can steer you in the right direction.
