I'm getting suspension eventually, any ideas.

RS needs a suspension refresh. Struts and springs. Tell me your thoughts.

I plan to do more rallycrosses, TSDs, and some hillclimbs.... Along with winter commuting once I get a new daily driver...

Needs to be tough and not drop my height. Curious to see what you guys come up with. I've already got some stuff in mind.

Hillclimbs you'd want a lower center of gravity.

RallyX, I assume you want more clearance over a lower center of gravity.

Coilovers are your only choice!

What about STI pinks with spacers for a lift?

Can't go wrong with good old KYB GR2's, and maybe a set of WRX springs. Nice and simple, but an upgrade over stock

I know where there is a set of low mileage 07 wrx struts with sti springs and tophats and just run a set of 1/2" spacers to regain the little bit of height that's lost from the sti springs

and the 06-07 wrx struts have a more performance strut then the 02-05 wrx's the 06-07 wrx struts are just a step up from gr-2's

King Springs from Primitive. Raise car about an inch, they're stiffer too w/o that boing-boing coilover ride.

If you did decide to go the coilover route, go for gravel spec units like HotBits.

I don't think I'll be doing coilovers. Because coilovers worth buying aren't cheap, cheap ones are literally garbage. The car may see JVABs someday though....

If I were exclusively going to do autocross, yeah, I'd do coilovers, because at this point my tarmac driving skills are good enough to where I could benefit from them. But since I'm still trying to figure out my head from by but when it comes to dirt driving, I need to take baby steps.

I'm thinking a decent strut and some fresher springs, BUT putting my money into the strut mounts and alignmenty doodads. While the back of the car is really set up well, the front end of the car needs work. Need to get the camber and castor right, need to throw in my steering rack bushings, etc.

I know I can't outdrive a stock setup, so I have a hard time justifying something so far out of my league. If I don't specialize the car for dirt or tar right away, I can do more of both events while I catch my dirt skills up to my tarmac ones.

A tip from an old rallyx person whose car I drove... While doing rallyx tilt the wheels top in to give you quick and accurate steering... maybe figure out a way to do this quickly

I've got a good idea of what castor and camber numbers I should be shooting for. Just different roads to getting there is all.
