looking for a 2.2 engine and a clutch

Hey hey,

So the clutch went in my 96 1.8 5mt Brigton and since I need to pull the engine to put a new one in I would like to swap out my 1.8 for a 2.2 while I am replacing the clutch.

 
I have a EJ22 in my 1998 Forester that I installed after a head gasket failure on the stock EJ251. It is currently in the car and running fine, but the car has gotten too rusty for inspection. What sort of budget do you have for the motor itself? If the price was right, you could come see the motor running and make your final decision before I pulled it out.

 
Not certain, approximately 160k. I have not looked at it closely, my guess is it needs to be resealed but that should be easy with the motor on a stand!

 
What I thought might make sense was for you to give a ballpark and I can say yes or no, based on the price and effort to remove the motor and all. If we are close enough, you can come and inspect the motor in the vehicle, then we could negotiate a specific price. Does that sound fair? If you would prefer, I can PM you my phone number.
