Mainely subarus exclusive rally-x

Im in where ever and when ever. My dad wants me to run one but I wanna get some practice first and doing it just for fun would be awesome practice

Yea, I think this would be a good idea! To bad I work both weekend days now so I don't think I would be able to make it but I think it should happen! Just need to pick a time and date!

Last time I heard, those events were closER to 100$. Not everybody can afford to spend a benji on an afternoons worth of fun.

 
65$ for non members..still 50$ If you are a member.

that's a real turn off to Some people that would have otherwise been all over it. Im not saying prices are outrageous.. With the amount of planning and man hours and facility rental all that I can see how its justified.

What im saying is, it seems doable (especially now that weve had land offered) to have a meet/ rally-x that's planned, funded, and ran for us m.s'ers for like 20$ or burgers and buns or something. if everyone plays their part, and chips in what and where they can, it would be very acheivable. Sure it wouldent be a year long "championship" or whatever you want to call it but to me at least.. That really wouldent be the point. It would merely be a "meet-and-beat" or some equally as witty kinda descriptive title.

It is because a real motorsport sanctioninig body needs to carry insurance, rent land from land owners, and fix any damage before we leave. Also there is a pretty expensive set of timing and other equipment. What I was saying is if you sweet talk one of the organizers (who frequents this forum) you might get a member price.

 
Regarding NER/SCCA - yep the price is usually dictated by the rental for the land, insurance, misc expenses (porta-potties for example). But the big one is usually the rent. For instance, the example given above for Slip 'N Slide (New England Dragway), a little over half of the entry fee is budgeted to go straight to the site rental costs.

Find a place to run at that is suitable - and get it for cheap or free - then it could be an option for NER to put on the event for you so you get the experience, timing equipment, safety gear, and most importantly, the liability insurance for the land owners and organizers. And we can charge less than what you typically see as well as giving MS members the SCCA member pricing as a thank you for helping to find/secure the site.

So, find some potential sites and then give myself, Kathy M., (both active on this forum) or Chris R. (email is on the NER site) a shout and we'll see what what we can work out.
