Yeah, it really does suck being pissed at yourself. I'm not going to worry about running the bead of silicone... I already filed a claim and it's going into the shop Monday. They are replacing the taillight anyways.

Here's another pic of the damage. They are gonna have to pull the side panel out... and there's damage underneath the trunk too. Wonderful! Thank God for deductibles though! It's going into the shop on Monday. I wonder what I'm gonna get for a rental.... My bet is Suzuki Aerio. lol

I know how you feel. I backed into a big log in my friends driveway a month or two ago, bending my left muffler down at about a 15/20 degree angle. I feel like such a tard.

Its given me an excuse to get a meyagi-made single exit though! In a few weeks hopefully. Moneys a lil tight in the snowy months as work is slow

 
That's the killer part for me blmpkin... my wife and I are slammed with medical bills right now... We had a miscarriage back in August/Sept, and she ended up having to have surgery for it. Then I injured my back and I was out on medical leave for 6 weeks. That whole time I was only paid 50% of my salary... while I'm so thankful for that, it still hurts. I'm basically working at half my pay for the next 5 weeks to repay my company (small company, so we really don't have a medical leave benefit... but my boss is SUPER cool and allowed it to work this way). So now we have medical bills coming out the wazoo, and then on top of that, I now have to pay a $250 deductible next week for this. Thankfully that's all I have to pay though. The estimate came to about $600, but that's without them knowing if the rear bumper frame has been damaged. Either way, insurance picks up anything over the $250, but it's still a tough pill to swallow right now.

 
I can relate to the feeling of doing dumb things to my car on accident.

Last week I slid off my driveway and hit a very large, unforgiving chuck of granite with my wheel turned full lock.

I think the only reason I managed to get it all apart and hammered straight is because I was so bad. I had something to swing my friggin' huge BFH at...

 
Thanks Rob. I've been in a few fender benders before (I've been rear-ended 3 times). I definitely agree that it makes you a better driver. I just had a lapse in mentality this morning. I'm so used to just getting in my car and going... not having any vehicles parked behind me in the turnaround on my driveway. It wasn't until I hit the truck that I was like "Oh crap".... I felt so horrible for my Dad. Here he is doing me a favor coming with me to drive me home after my procedure, and how do I thank him? I hit his truck. lol

 
I had the opposite thing happen to me haha

I parked behind my mother one night and she ended up backing onto my hood

Yeah I put my legacy through its paces. I had to replace my steering rack cause I like to take her "car wheelin" haha

 
Heat shields on these suck. I fixed mine, no chance of it failing again in that spot. It was the one right above the midpipe-cat connection so I decided to keep it.

 
If I have the welder out I'll tack them onto the exhaust pipe. But I don't usually have a welder in my garage.

 
I wish I had me a welder so I could weld up the rotted flange with the blown donut gasket back together. it sounds awful and there is noting I can do about it. and I haven't had the time at work to bring the car on the lift to slice and dice either. big sad face

I have a feeling that this is what is happening with mine too... not the heat shields. Although, I will probably take them out when the weather gets warmer just to get rid of them and the possibility of them rattling.
