Mobil 1 Gear Oil in the Tranny

Ok... so i'm on the Brokeback forum reading and this guy goes big font on me about "DO NOT USE MOBIL 1 IN A 5MT" and references doing a search on it...

so I did...

Has anyone else heard of this? Is it more anti-mobil 1 BS or such a limited # of affected vehicles that nobody posts? I've never seen a post by anyone saying "my gears were ruined by mobil 1"...

I have it in my tranny w/ no plans of draining it out anytime soon.

 
I've got it in mine without any issues and we put it in every MT car we service and haven't had any complaints.

Except Internalcombust. But he left out the fact that his tranny had been rebuilt before he bought it and didn't feel right and was popping out of reverse before the Mobil 1 was put in.
