MS/Team O'Neil Winter Safe School-January 31, 2010

katnip

the car is black. I swear
OK, its official.

I have the OK of both Team O and MS to have an official Mainely Subaru Winter Safe School day.

I will post up the date tomorrow, otherwise, here's the DEAL:

There needs to be atleast 12 people sign up and the cost for MS members and family will be $225, yes 225, that is a steep discount for MS members. Once the date is confirmed, you will need to call Team O and pay by cc to reserve your slot. First come first served kiddos. You will use your own car, and they MUST have a snow tire. Show up with non-snow rated "summer" tires and you will not be allowed to participate. (We require the same of the NASIOC group also!) This is a safe driving course!

The date has been set, Sunday, January 31, 2010 you will be gone by 4:00ish

who's in?

Kat

Actual Pirate Hook for a hand or are you referring to Gary Webb and Atlantic Driving School?

Just for clarification, can you participate with all seasons?

I.E. I have dedicated winters for my WRX but my wife is happy with good all seasons on her Legacy. I looked on the O'Neil site but an answer is not forth coming. I know that I am defintly interested, and I would drag my wife along if she can do it in her car.

all-seasons are acceptable as long as they have a decent amount of tread. the winter safe info on the website is for the general public, we can be a little more tolerant with "groups" but we had issues in the past with folks showing up with track tires, or re 090's etc., just because you drive on them in the winter doesn't mean they are safe, and up here they are not safe. it is always recommended you use the car you will be driving in the winter and it doesn't HAVE to be a suby, but if all the cars are AWD it will focus the teaching on only AWD technique

one year I had to drive a customers jeep from the hotel to the school because she was too afraid to drive out to the school on the snowy roads, by the time we were done she couldn't wait to get on the road.

I should let everyone know, learners permits are perfectly acceptable. They will be driving on private property only, so if you have a teen that is pre-permit and you want them to get some time on the snow, they would be able to participate, also and we would encourage it, just remember, its your rig they will be driving.

called today and added the wife to this list.

looking forward to another fun season helping people be safe.
