Needs a fix...

DIRTY JBP

dirty boostin :D
Well, I got bad news. My girlfriend was at the bank yesterday, and some truck backed up into my subie when she was inside. Basic hit and run, no one saw anything, and now I have to get it fixed... It took out the passenger side fender, headlight and hood. So now I have the lovely task of rebuilding... Anyone know anyone that would wanna help me out, maybe get it fixed a bit cheaper, get some cheaper parts, anything would help at this point. Didn't expect to have to fix my car before Xmas. Any help or suggestions are appreciated guys! Thanks.

I would ask the Bank for thier security tapes of thier parking lot. If they don't have any, then they probably suck as a bank. If they do (as they should) then see if they can get a plate number. Then I would ask the local PD what to do about it. Im a Jerk when it comes to hit an runs because its the only way to show you mean business, eventually, people will learn to stay away from your car because it will cost them money if they don't. I got the guy that hit my car where I work, and he paid for it.

did you or she report this to the local PD, if not better get to it, quick

with hit-n-run report in hand, PD can ask bank for security tapes...they're much more likely to cooperate with PD than with somebody driving a borrowed car

report is good legally, but police will not care.

I was in broad daylight in front of the post office during rush hour- hit and run. It was hard enough to stop and get out wondering WTF just happened...

if it was not 300 freakin belligerent blindass witnesses...

good luck getting it fixed. better to concentrate on that like you are doing.

Alrighty! The insurance guy just left my house... $2100 in damages, $500 deductible, so $1600 to fix my newest problem. I need a Headlight, Radiator Support, Hood, and Fender; along with some paint to make it look all nice. I don't mind throwing in some extra cash to get the job done right. Anyone know someone in the midcoast area who could do this job, make it look all nice again, and do it fairly cheap? I am ready to take it where it needs to go, just looking for some good people to work on it. Let me know if any of you might want the job or know of someone or a company that did work for you that you enjoyed. Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Hill side collision right in Waldoboro does good work. Sucks that happened! What bank was it at?

Camden National in Thomaston. She was even parked out back behind the bank, she didn't even park on Rt. 1, oh well. Yea I was thinking Hillside, but they seem to charge a lot, at least they did last time I got an estimate from them. I dunno, we shall see, it's headed somewhere soon!

Yeah they aren't the cheapest. Another place that does good work an is cheaper is Scarborough Collision in Damariscotta on Biscay Rd.

Good deal Bratman, I will head down there and check them out. At least get an estimate and compare. Another question for you all... While I need a new hood now, do you guys think I should go with an STI hood or a regular hood? I think I am gonna de-badge the trunk and rip the wing off. I like the nice clean look. Just wondering what you guys had for opinions hood wise on the 'ole blobeyes. Thanks for all the info guys!
