Rally Fluffer
I've been looking into this for a while and I am coming here to see if someone can help pull my head out of my ass. I've talked with pedro, and ralli about this too. I have all of the programs to do it and I can get the cable. But I hate to keep asking people to do this for me. I would like to learn how. I'm going to go in very small steps. For right now I'm looking to just to have a map to run my catted tb. I've heard 4th of July comes early for the 2.5L if there is no EM present. So boom for any exhaust mode due to creep and spike. Now, do I need to pull/log my own ecu to start or is the ecuflash program.? Because there is not a lot of 08 xt forester maps out there just to look at. If someone could shine some light and getting me flashed for this it would be great. Like I said I could do the flashing I just don't have a clue of the file I need to do so. ( And no I don't want a AP as of right now.)

Any and all wisdom is greatly appreciated. Thank you for dealing with a EM noob.

Hmmmm well you need to get yourself a tactrix cable first. Then your going to want to get rom raider and ecuflash. Once you find yourself a map its really easy to load it. Just open ecuflash and click one button. Then after you can take logs with rom raider or get ecuexplorer to log.

You wont get boost creep, subaru guys call things boost creep when it's actually a boost control issue. Boost creep occurs when your wastegate cannot flow the needed amount to control your boost level. It happens, but too often the crappy boost control system is to blame, and not actually the turbo.

My suggestion is to look at stock maps and stage two maps. Check out the differences and just keep learning. Building a map from scratch is a ton of work...and kind of sucks. It's a lot of work! And takes a lot of flashing, driving, logging, and more flashing.

Why risk it?

Are you comfortable with the logging and flashing functions? There are any number of tuners out there (on NASIOC) that will help you with a remote tune if you don't mind A: paying B: exchanging emails containing logs/maps a few times to iron out the wrinkles.

I couldn't agree more!

i'm in talks with a guy named brendon from nasioc who's going to give me a road tune at the end of this month. (25th?) He's pretty experienced and has some references on nasioc as well. he's located in worcester and does a tune for 150 bucks.

that or getting Antonio on the horn about a tune would be your best bet.
I did talk to him and he said he would help me out, but he has a lot going on so I hate to bug people when I start "ocd"ing over subies thing. I love hearing from people and their two cents on things. Again thanks for all the input.

agreed? No, , yes? everyone ..anyone?.
Unplug your boost control solenoid wire and you wont overboost.

And I'm more than willing to help folks. Last weekend was sports weekend (Friday at Fenway and Sunday at the 'Garden' for game 5 with the B's).

Is that the guy that does the XPT tuning stuff? or is that a different guy? If it is, he does a good job, very knowledgeable.
