questions about 2007 subaru legacy 2.5i exhaust

Are the stock mufflers welded on ? I was looking to get some new ones yes or no ?

They are welded to pipe that connects at a flange. The flange is near the back axles, thus the term "axle back". Then it goes mid pipe, then your cat section, then headers.

You can have a muffler shop cut off the stock ones and weld on new ones, or find another one and have it done up how you want and just bolt it on.

I thought so, is there a way to keep the flanges so I can bolt on new mufflers ?

If you got an axle back specially for your car they should just bolt on and you'd keep the flanges.
