Smelling Gasoline, No Luck Finding Any Leak - 2002 WRX

Went over the car a few times, can't find Gas leaking from anywhere. The scent is strongest from the Engine below the throttle.

Times are you can smell it pretty bad at a stoplight, or when I get home and park it. (maybe the car is telling me not to stop going?)

Puzzles the 'ell outta me and my wife freaks whenever I drive it 'cause she thinks I'll blow myself up (I smoke)

Gas mileage has gone down by 2-4 MPG or so... and there are times where I launch, drive a tenth of a mile and lose an eighth of my tank. (I keep my eye on the gas guage for a bit after to be certain it dosen't go back up)

ANY suggestions as to where to check, questions for further information, or just telling me to tighten "that" bolt and the problem'll go away shall be vastly appreciated and answered. And appreciated.

short list of mods:

HKS Turbo Timer, Blowoff valve, exhaust from block back (no cat.. shhhh), manual boost control valve, aftermarket ECU at 50% = full throttle, gauge pod (turbo temp and boost)

This is a common bugeye WRX problem, especially during extreme cold. I had this last year as well, and had to get it fixed. Since you have an '02, if you whine to SOA enough, they might do it on the house. More info is here:

its the fuel line under your turbo inlet tube it will usually happen when its below 20 degree's its usually not a cheap fix unless you are able to fix it yourself

 
What does Subaru prescribe to fix this? New rubber line? New clamps?

both only seen a couple of them in the shop for this will lit you know more tomorrow when i can look up the bulletins

 
its the lines to to fuel rail... easy fix... take manifold off and fix line with new line. Joel just did this on his wagon ask him. you might not even have to take the manifold off if i recall on my sti I could SQUIZZZZZLE my and in there and get at them... another fix is full coverage insurance, some matches, and drive.

Pat - I have full coverage +, and like I said I smoke... I don't know. Maybe I'll save THAT option for a rainy day. (so I don't burn to death)
