Somthing weird with my oil.

So the oil was changed about 1500-2000 miles ago in my 2003 WRX. Sometimes when I go to check the oil after I have been driving it there will be no oil on the dip stick. Obviously this is kind of a scary sight to see. Then when I wait a little bit ill check it again and the oil will be fine (right below the F on the dip stick) there is also no oil leaking from the bottom of the car. I really don't know what I should do? Help me please!

First would be to not post in the for sale forum. Second, how long are you waiting between shutdown and checking it? It takes some time for the oil to run down the heads and back to the pan (I'd say give it 5-10 minutes). Any idea when the pcv valve was changed last? That can get stuck and cause oil to get trapped in places it shouldn't be (mine reaquired a quart after changing )
