Timing belts OEM Vs. Gates Vs. Mitsuboshi Vs. etc.

So I finally ordered my timing belt kit from FCP Groton, claiming "OEM or better" performance. The Timing belt is stamped "Mitsuboshi", which at first I thought a clever pun, but after further research discovered many other Subie parts are outsourced (TD04 turbo to Mitsubishi for example, which I knew). What I didn't know is that Mitsuboshi is actually OEM for some Subaru's. All I really was looking for was whether or not this kit will be able to handle my puny EJ205 stage 2 set up for another hundred thou:). I've read many reviews, everything from "Gates is the best", "Gates sucks", "only use OEM" blah blah blah. Just seeing what you people use/thought, input and suggestions encouraged...

It's like the points on whos line is it anyway.

Install the belt, replace it at the required service interval. Unless you're running a time attack car, it really doesn't matter THAT much.

hahaha I just was concerned more of a sudden halt of the engine. Sometimes when I drive to work in the morning it's a time attack

Thanks for the advice Dan.

I agree with Dan. I've run a Gates, OEM, and even Goodyear timing belt. All worked fine.
