Trying to pick a direction to modify my suspension

Lately I have wanted to do something to improve my suspension on my 08 2.5i. The idea is I just want to put on used parts and do this for cheep.

I have front and rear sway bars that I am planing to put on eventually. But what can i do for struts? I kind of want to see I can cram in STI ones but I havn't found anything online even remotely close to attempting this. FYI if it makes my ride hight higher that's a good thing. lol

09 WRX struts, and matching (stiffer) lowering spring. Pick up someone take off. Keep an eye out for someone swapping to coils.

there should be no issue getting takeoff struts and springs from a newer WRX. and possibly fit them with STi springs.

I am just going to clean up my whoops so future searches don't point to bad info.

Im bringing this thread back from the dead.

Anyone know if the new suspensions from the wide body wrx's 2010+ compatible with the 08-09's? I cant find anything online about it. But I dont want to assume it doesn't. But I am leaning towards it........

I am looking on doing Feal inserts in my stock struts with STI springs. They will modify your stock struts for under 1K. I am looking to use them for hillclimb and Rallycross, Looks pretty beefy

DO IT. A guy who works on time attack cars just had a set done for his daily driver.

picked up some new struts last night:

they are not ordinary sti struts:

A shop out here called Feal Suspension takes the stock inverted sti struts apart' date=' cleans them, polishes out any scoring on the inserts, and puts in a zerk fitting to re-grease the internal bushings.

Oh, and also they will custom re-valve the dampers. These are setup for my Racecomp Engineering black springs, so they got a little bit stiffer and have a little more low speed compression. The curves are pretty similar to the ohlins fixed perch strut so I'm thinking they're going to work pretty well.

Dan, that is a different setup.

Feal also does an insert for the WRX non inverted struts for ~$1k.

Yeah, I linked a different setup, but it's still an example of their work. And the guy who had it done knows his poop. Meant my post as more of an endorsement for Feal then commenting on the setup rad is lookin into.

I checked their site and they do the newer models but only the front. Im going to just have to bite the bullet and find an suspension off of a 09+ wrx. I just put an offer on a wrx suspension and the seller pretty much told me to screw myself. Needless to say this is going to be interesting finding a susension.
