What is wagon specific, what is the same for wagon vs sedan?

Struts

Struts are specific to the Wagon. While sedan OEM and aftermarket struts and coilovers will fit, you will lose negative camber.

This can be corrected with camber bolts and/or camber plates.

The only upgraded struts that retains stock camber numbers are KYB GR2s and Koni inserts in gutted OEM wagon struts.

I just saw that, just not looking to spend that kinda dough at the moment.

Can anyone verify the info from the Nasioc thread that GR2 struts will fit the wagon and sedan with the same part? check out rock auto, who is selling the GR2 for sedan at $88 per, and the GR2 for the wagon for $115 per.

 
The sedan and the wagon are a different fitment. I paid $138 shipped each for mine, you can get the sedan struts but you will have positive camber. I'm asking $60 less than your brand new and they have a lifetime warranty, is that price way too high? You are the second guy that's said my price was out in left field

 
They aren't terribly high, although $20 per strut depreciation is probably kinda low. I mostly just don't want to spend the money on all 4 corners right now. plus I don't need top hats.

 
nasioc seems to say that GR2 are the only sedan strut that doesn't result in excess camber on a wagon

Page 152 shows different part numbers for sedan and wagon GR2s. I interpret the nasioc info to mean that KYB GR2s are the only WAGON specific aftermarket struts. Again, just my interpretation. I could be wrong. However, for proper camber, you need to buy the wagon struts. That Radness has.

I put GC struts on my WRX WAG and got some camber bolts and 1" of lift/spacers. Now to get an Inski-Sharp alignment. If I had to do it over, I would spring for the GR2s. That Radness has.

Sedan struts and camber bolts will bring you back to about stock camber adjustability. They can take a little bit of patience to install. http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6365

I think you're right that GR2s are the only stock replacement that is exactly fit for the wagon. They make the bolt holes for the knuckle offset like the stock ones to compensate for the narrower front end of the wagons. Performance manufactures don't bother making a different item and assume you're going to have some other means of camber adjustment like camber plates.

Sedan owners can use this the other way and use wagon struts with performance inserts to gain extra camber!

I only need rear at the moment, so I don't need the full set of struts/springs/top hats. that radness has.

 
Its only the fronts that are "wagon" specific, but if you are looking to go the really cheap route I have a set of stock '04 wagon struts, one of the fronts is blown. Selling all 4 for $100.
