Going to be awd swapping my car before the snow flies, plus my rear sub frame is rusty and needs to be replaced anyway. I was wondering what transmission/diff you folks think I should pick up. My idea was a Legacy 4.11 trans and some type of 4.11 lsd rear diff (I think they came in the RS). Any info is greatly appreciated!

Forester S w/5-spd used viscous LSD, same 4.11 ratio as 2.5RS. Probly easier to find, too.

4.11 is the easiest ratio to run. 3.9 and 4.44 harder to find.
4.11 was in RS, legacy's, foresters, and every single 3rd gen outback 5 speed (they have a short 5th too).
As for LSD rear, you'll need an 00 or 01 RS 5speed rear or a legacy with a winter package. Most of them are probably all worn out now too.
