i was thinking this would be a good sticky for people thinking of going bigger or wider if we get enough input

i've done 205-70-15 pirelli scorpions under 07 2.5i

205-75-15 general grabbber at2 (barely fit) under 98 foz. and these will not fit 2.5i, major rubbing

and i know gclark has 215-65-16 grabbers under his lifted 05 obs, unsure if they'd fit stock height

no i was hoping we'd get both crowds to post so if people wanted to go either way they'd know their options, i just prefer taller

good enough, im running 245-40-17 on 17x8 +45 offset. Flush with fenders, dropped on coilovers

I stuffed 225 hoosiers under the miata (measured 248mm wide, mounted)

oh you meant SUBARUS

205/75/15

87 gl (tall one by oem)

needs loyale caster bushings to move caster the .25 for front full turn..and on 505 pug wheels...and oem springs for the 87 gl...not the loyale.

they have been the same for 25 years, including stance. play with quarters and halfs...

225/60/16 under a 2000 forester. Its a nominal increase, but the knobby snow tires did rub on full lock turns, minor rub though. Summer/allseasons were fine.

Shorty and other racers have success doing 215/55/16 and 215/60/16 under slightly lowered Impreza sedans. Simple physics...More rubber on the pavement = more stick & grip with the right compound.

00 RS, lowered ~1" on GR-2s w/stock 16x7 6-spoke wheels...225/50-16 Dunlop Star Specs. No rubbing of consequence (minor rubbin @ full lock on the mudflaps) but there is approx 1mm of clearance at the rear spring perches.

These tires are fat fat with very squared-off sidewalls, tread is almost 9" wide. 100% no way to go wider without wheel spacers and/or different offset wheelz.

This is pretty good...

My 98RS. 17x7 +42 with 215/50

Rubbing in rear on hard bumps at speed or hard corners. This is before getting an alignment after struts/springs. will report back after I get the inski treatment tomorrow.

235/45r17s on 17x7.5 48 offset no rub stock suspension, looked pretty good

225/50r17s on stockers- kinda ballooney for the LGT but its what I had lying around for free when my cords were showing. no rubbing

i like the way this is going. hopefully this all will be helpful to someone down the road.

and i'm running the 205-75-15 grabbers on my 2.5i. they only rub when i turn hard...hit bumps...drive on uneven ground. but that's mostly on the custom rally flaps. may not hit on a car without. keep 'em comin

running 215-60-r16 dunlap graspic DS-1's on roughly 1-1/2 inch lift on my 2000 OBS minor rubbing at full turn on inner fender-well, other then that there fine!

225 65 r16 (free) yoko's on my 01 leg outback. Tread rubbed slightly at front inner fenders on hard turns.
