WTT: Borla Headder for Stock Headder

Wanting to trade a used Borla headder for a passable stock headder to fit an 01 2.5 RS. Maybe someone can chime in what other years are applicable, but I'm guessing anything pre 02 2.5 NA motors is acceptable, and maybe newer too?

Also loking for a good condition steering rack to fit an 01 RS. Thanks!

I've got a stock header and a rack from a 2001 Forester.

I'll converse with the parts gurus and see if the numbers are the same for an RS.

I also have a wheel hub you were looking for awhile back. You were going to make a puller or something?

Is your steering rack leaking coolant?

Inski, let me know if the part numbers align with the stars... The hub would be great. I am planning to make a puller for it to fit my slide hammer. Something about that sounds wrong...

 

My steering rack seems to have some play in it. I just replaced all four tie rod ends, and there's still play in the left side (only side to side, not at all up and down, but wheel bearings are on the way too)... Any thoughts?

I'd trade you mine but it sounds like you've already got a bunch of people willing, plus I feel like I would lose power on my weak, stock engine

. These borla headers are longer than stock correct?

 
The Borla uses the stock exit location, but I think with all the tubing, they are probably longer. I don't really know as I've never had a stock one for the car...

 
the headers are the same.

There is a different part number for the racks, but we suspect it might be the way the hoses hook up. You are more than welcome to grab my rack and try it, or hold it up and compare it to yours and see if you can see the differences. Whatever you'd like.
