time for an update: so I spent a good deal of time but luckily no money sourcing another FWD rear case. However, I was so concerned with whether or not the spline adapter would fit in the case (yes it does) I completely ignored the fact that there is no way the 5th gear shift fork ever will...
Had a set of older studded Winterforce, they worked well. Wintermarks another alternative but are better in the dirt IMO. Blizzak WS-50's are another cheap alternative. I usually just buy whatever I can find cheap or use whatever comes with rims. "Give me 6 Schlitz's...."
Update: Using a subaru drive pinion stopper tool and welding a spacer on the back (thanks MrToad)
The driven and pinion splines
are coupled
voila!
next up is fitting the fwd rear case... more to come
The PS3 will also connect to media servers. So say you have some PS3 friendly formatted videos sitting on your computers hard drive, you can set up a DNLA server and watch the vids through the PS3 on a TV from the comfort of your couch. Bigger files don't always stream so well on the wireless...
yes they are mine (the hands)... I forgot the name and don't usually look at it, just know how to use them (proper use not depicted). thought you were asking about the gloves for a sec : can't remember the price
it's a dbf-2015 front diff. The 2wd conversion part will come later... need to couple the driven gears to the front pinion, this part is still in the works.
tesa's, yes
Since there are no final drive options available for the 2wd trans, the clutch is a puny girlie man and the input shaft has a different spline so I just can't change the clutch I have decided to convert an AWD trans that I pulled out of a '97 Leggo wagon during $40 trans weekend into a fwd...
it's a '97 900s. also have a 01 9-3 hot and an old spg. they are al pretty easy to work on. The 9-3 is basically the same thing as the 900 which is nice. I would say that the Impreza is easier to work on but the hardware just doesn't cooperate sometimes (ie weldnuts and exhaust studs).
Very lucky, one of those with out this the car goes nowhere. so:
Got a shiny new bushing to get rid of the slop in the steering rack on my 900. Didn't want to pony up the $200 for the aluminum rack brace. Installation should only take about 20mins or so since there are only two bolts and you...
