Someone with a Tactrix cable should be able to plug into your car, download your ECU's map, then edit the map to get rid of the CEL permanently then re-upload the map to your ECU. At the same time they may be able to tweak your tune to get a few more MPG's, higher redline, and a bit more power.

Why not do an OS tune to get rid of the CEL permanently? Sorry if that's a noob question, but when I went catless on my 08 WRX that's what I did and it was perfectly fine.

Yeah the access port OTS maps helped a ton on my 08, but over time I found adjusting the timing a little bit made a noticeable difference in my AFR as well as performance, mostly the throttle response. Just be careful and watch your EGT's.

Hey that's my old car.... Check the line from the recirc valve to the inlet tube, it has come off once before. Also the vacuum line to the recirc valve has been known to slip off the back side of the manifold.

300 on an STi is a piece of cake, even with an 06-07. You can probably get anywhere from 10-25 HP depending on how aggressively you tune it. Most OTS tunse have enough error built in so the car should do alright with a reset. In order to tune for it though you'll need to take some logs and see where you're at.
