02 Focus SVT, 115k, $4k

OK, I admit it---I have Subaru Separation Anxiety, and got it bad.

therefore, the SVT is going up 4 sale, wanted to give the MS crew first crack at a sweet little hot hatch. Nigel has been a good boy and not hooned this car on dirt & snow or into/out of/over berms & ditches.

02 SVT 3-door, Sonic Blue, 115k. 170hp 2-liter Zetec, 6-speed Getrag, with every option known to Ford--trac control, heated leather seats, sunroof, block heater, Sony Xplod sound. Tons of recent work--within last 5k it's had clutch, rotors, pads, tires. $4000. Open to trades for/toward GC RS or Bugeye Rex.

Good deal!

Nigel drove a car with traction control?

Good luck with the sale. This would have been tempting a few months ago when I bought my wagon.

Just a tad of surface rust I have to sand off this spring.

Out of curiosity, what does this not have that you're missing in a suby?

Obviously AWD, et all, but what else?

mainly a matter of ground clearance and wheel travel, plus the AWD. Suby offers more of all 3 than the SVT. I can get an AWD Focus, but that would be about $150k for a beat up ex WRC one that would have to be smuggled in from Latvia or Ireland or something.

My ideal would be to combine the looks, lightness and suspension ability of a GC with the leather heated seats, sunroof and super sweet glose-ratio gearing of the SVT's Getrag 6-spd. Oh yeh, the SVT sound system is about 47x better than the boombox in the Scoob.

nope.

car lives in Camden, works in Rockland.

there's one just like it that lives locally, the guy driving it did a serous double-take when he saw me the other day.

wow, that was quick!
hrmmm...this would make a wicked nice school car, or a 'rolling spares kit' for Mr Tim you know who, whose red SVT must be getting pretty tired by now.

currently hot on the trail of a certain silver GC coupe that some of you from back in the Suberoo TunErZ of Maine days might remember.....

didn't mind the FWD as such, but it was the 1-wheel drive that didn't work for me. Focus SVT needs trac control lobotomy, big time. Spending 30-40% of car's value to add a Quaife wasn't in the cards. flat loved the close ratio 6-spd gearbox. hard to fix the Focus ground clearance and wheel travel issues for kind of driving I like to do, was really the bottom line tho.

The GC I'm shopping used to be mine, actually. hasn't exactly been babied over its life, but has been very well tookened care of mechanically. at least I know what I'm gettin. (he said hopefully)

think I'll be searching a stock RS wing in silver soon. gots a hi-rise silver RB 5 wing to sell or trade.
