Just seeing if anyone has any interest in this at all. It has 5 spd dual range tranny, Very reliable EA81 motor, 2" lift, great shape, has a few small rust areas, but easily fixed. It used to be an auto, so it still needs the reverse light wired up to the shifter, and the speedo doesn't work. I would let it go to someone on here for $800 or B.O. I would also possibly trade for performance parts for my XT.

Yep it is and would be for someone else!!! I would like some money for mods to my Forester!!

I've always wanted this car. haha. Maybe at the end of the summer if it's still around I'll have some monies! This car and I would have a wonderful abusive relationship

That would be awesome!! I know you would use it well. And you know you can come get help with it, and I have a great line on used parts and have a few myself. Let me know!! And honestly I would be willing to do a payment plan too!

Hmm. I have 2 decent (I hope) paying shows coming up, and some other random work. I'll see what life looks like then.

I would do a very good job (ab)using it! And it would give my poor legacy a little break on the abuse. There are some roads I'd like to wheel, some mountains in the winter I'd like to drive up, tempting.

Yeah it would be cool if you got it. It also needs new rear wheel bearings, they are just noisy, not loose. I have those new in box, just have to get out on. But it's definitely worth what I'm asking, I had a guy at work interested for 1200, but he don't got no money! LOL It would be great for keeping miles off your Legacy!!

I wish I could. in fact I am going to ask about a storage...

stop with the abuse. Kids don't even know what they are wrecking at here...

I also have an ea82 waiting...hide that ea81 in an airproof pedestal.

save the dainty cranks, kill the last manly thing subaru ever built...silly kids...

Who said anything about wrecking anything? And the ea81 is better. Go hide your ea82 in at air proof pedestal so no unsuspecting noob tries to use one in their car.

Haha, yeah the EA82 isn't known for being great. They do last a long time, and will take a lot of abuse, but will start leaking and then the two timing belts will snap!! You can do all the same stuff with the EA81 and have none of those things happen. And I believe that 987687 would have his fun with it, but not wreck it!!

after 13 years of ea82, you are going to step up with opinions...

when does this silly kiddy train stop.

all dimensions in the ea82 are bigger than the ea81..and for the 85-87: forged is in the internals..(the carbed versions you can count on it.) , I guess that went with dual range in full control of its own ass end...the ea81 has a chance for very simple runtime with a single mounted cam, and ratios to change in lift. that is all there is to it... i really like both of them. Very smart in the history of real boxers, some still use it for aviation.

And for another unknown record..the ea82 mounted backwards to a gear drive outdid the ea81 with a 200+mph trip from arizona to florida..in a custom airplane. subaru offered some good stuff, emissions almost made a butt out of it (I am glad mechanics knew better)

I bet some still think the loyale ea82 is as strong as the 85-87 version....

some don't know what they got until they kill an ej prematurely.

Speaking of rare boxers, I just inquired about the 30k mile XT, and got a reply.

My birthday is coming up... I'm going to talk to my parents tomorrow and see if they'll pay half or something. Because that would be EFFING SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooooo. I showed this to my girlfriend. She isn't overly impressed.... She asked why I can't just lift my legacy like this and get a nice sports car instead....
