Hello everybody, just joined the other day. I used to drive an '02 Ranger. But in a interesting turn of events I lent it to a coworker for the week end, and he totaled it on Rte. 101 in NH. The insurance company gave me a nice check to get a new car, and it was on. A close friend has an 02 WRX Wagon, and i've always been jealous. So after a couple of test drives, and some interesting characters later, I am the proud owner of an '03 WRX Wagon. I could not be more excited. I've had it for a week now, and i still can not stop smiling. I found it on craigslist, the kid was moving out west to utah and said he need a snow machine, not a car. It came with a Subaru short throw, SPT intake, Subaru triple gauge cluster, and 17 speedlines with new tires. So psyched.

Thanks Everyone. Yea, i would love to mod It further, right now money is tight though, the wife is out of work. I'm thinking about just saving for the COBB Stage 2 Kit, Any thoughts?

In the immediate future im looking at an STI Hood Scoop, and some projectors. I hear a lot of chatter about Ebay Headlights, are these the ones?

They are cheap, and look ok, I like that the plastic can be painted. Are they just Ebay garbage, anyone have any experience?

 
oh, i Forgot to mention, the wagon has the STI Suspension in it. What are thoughts on the top mounted strut bars? I see that i can get them pretty affordably, are they gonna make a real difference?

 
as for the cobb stage 2 kit, its a great piece. good quality, and just looks great.

that being said, its overpriced. you could do just as well for yourself getting a erz or ebay brand downpipe, and a used catback from the classifieds on here, or on nasioc.

as for your suspension, good struts and springs, mated with good tires make all the difference. i wouldn't worry too much about strut bars, as the benefit is negligible

 
My thought in going with the COBB was getting the AP and Stage 2 Maps included. Is that not worth it? can anyone with an AP and the appropriate maps help me with that? or does it not work like that. Sorry, Still Very new to all of this.

And by the way Nailman, i read how you helped that girls. Props to you. I work at a Rock Club, and have to deal with that kinda S*&% all the time. Drives me crazy some of the things people do. Anyway, nice to hear there are some good people out there still.

Hey Keith, I wouldn't bother with those lights. I got the same lights (well they were for my 97 Impreza, but exact same lights, just different housing) and they SUCK. Low beams are too dim, even with brighter bulbs, the high beams were okay ... as low beams. You're probably thinking, "Well, I could also swap the lenses out with real projector lenses and then maybe go HID" ... well if you can find a set of good lenses that will fit in that tiny hole, let me know. I found some that I thought maybe would fit into the high mean spot, but then I'm need some tiny high beams ... haha.

Unless you're going to go with a retrofit pair of lights, JDM is the way to go it seems. Expensive stuff tho

I think that was me with the headlights, but thanks for the advice.........they look so tempting, but you never know till you put them in, you know?

Any way, here are some pics of the new ride. A local dealer had one just like it, only completely stock and beat to crap, literally, they wanted 8K.

I picked this one up for 5K, and had another dealer do the timing belt and various other stuff, they said it looks great mechanically, so im happy as a pig, if you know what i mean.
