LOOKING TO GET INTO ANOTHER SUBARU

You guys are great honestly. I knew it would be the right thing to post here.

Since I moved back to Saco the issues with being able to work on a vehicle are null now. I've got access to a truck and am closer to my mechanic buddies. But yeah I see what you're saying as far as turboed cars go. My main issue is just lack of funds. I've tried working out trades and whatnot but never gotten anywhere. Chris and Meyagi thank you for the offers. I'll definitely need to look into them.

My general thought is that I might be able to nail down a small loan 1 to 2k I think. I want to try to buy something reliable for now, and then when I have the money move up. Recently I tried for a 6k loan and that's when they told me that I can get a auto loan as long as its 03 or newer.

 
For that price on a car loan it should be pretty easy I just sold my 06 forester 5spd for that with the head gaskets and all the major services done but just don't buy the first car you look at have it looked at cause a second set of eyes is always a good thing

 
Absolutely, I mean i'm definitely keeping my options open as I don't have the funds. $300 in the bank is gonna get me nowhere. I always try to bring someone, cause I tend to be that someone for my friends as well. Plus it's better for the second opinion, the purchaser could just get too excited and the 3rd party can point out stuff being overlooked.

 
I do appreciate the outlook Vecken, but yeah she's long gone now. Do you guys think there would be a market for like a 00 2.5RS impreza with the 2.2 swapped in or at least the hybrid block/head combo?

 
The problem is that that's a phase2 car. So the 2.2L engine is fairly hard to find. Only came in the 99 legacyL and 99-01? impreza.

If you put 2.5 heads on a 2.2 block it considerably lowers compression, not good for n/a use. But it is good for turbo

Then with 2.2 heads on a 2.5 block in phase2 world, you lose flow because the 2.2 heads have singel exhaust ports, and there are no aftermarket options for headers.

You'd be better off having the 2.5 heads shaved if you wanted upped compression.

Fair enough, aha gotta get my info from somewhere. I just wasn't sure, I feel like those 2.5RS usually get WRX swapped and i'm sure if someone had HG issues they wouldn't drop a 2.2 in it. The reason I asked was I feel if it had been done, it would considerably drop the price?

I'd be interested in any set of wheels if I had the cash. I feel like saving is going to be the toughest part. Though man I do appreciate the offer and all of the other offers I got from you guys. It's mint how tight knit everyone is. This is the place to be.
