Nailman's Ride

it was a pretty fun car to ride in. Pretty quick. It would make a great daily drive. I think it needs maybe a bit more boost and some meth!!! It also was a great handling ride.

i know, and i want it. .. but i dont have the money for the other stuff i would need with it. (bigger tank, failsafe, level sensor, gauge, install, etc . .. )

Phil how do you like the SPT intake over the stock airbox? The general consensus on NASIOC is that the SPT intake is a waste of money and yields no HP gains over stock. Most say it's purely an engine dress-up and sound mod.

Your opinion?

 
i have no before numbers, so anything i have to say is purely speculative. that, and 90% of what is found on nasioc is mindless hearsay.

it's a well made product, and with the heat shield that is sold with it, i would have to say most of the air getting sucked into it is coming directly from the fenderwell anyway, like a cold air intake. it fit right up to my gms intake too.

that being said, im sure you could pull a couple more hp with a full cold air intake.

i've had no problems with it, and they are had cheaply enough so that if i had to do it again, i would probly go the same route.

 
Thanks... I've always considered one, but never pulled the trigger on it. It's definitely a nice piece, and you can get them for pretty cheap!

Widely.

ARC makes a brilliant intake that feeds out of the fender well.

It's $$$$$ but sweet!

I run a Cobb CAI, imo it's acceptably engineered.

I'm adding an intake with ducting to my hood as well as piping from the inside of the fr. lip > fender well > intake, for all the cold air I can get, plus my hood is lifted 2" rear/1" front.

I'm bummed I'm storing the car this year, it LOVES the cold!

flogged her a couple times over the past week. she is running very well (knocks on wood)

she really does screw though. both shorty, and impreza05 can attest to this. i think adam and i broke the international uphill speed to altitude record the other day.

on a side note, mpg has picked way up, and i'm within 1mpg of where i was pre-tune. all in all, im very happy with it.

 
That was a lot of fun right up till we saw the Deputy. I was telling Barb about the rocket up the hill and she told me to take the leap but I'm still talking myself out of it.

 
well, the parts fairey came to me also. however, after visiting nate the other day, she didnt have much good schwag left.

full set of gauges, and a virjose spoiler. pics to come.

 
Another new mod i forgot about. new windshield installed today! caught a rock off a semi about a monthit dawned on me, that my insurance company would pay for it. dropped it off this am, picked it up around noon. what a difference! My 66,000mi windshield was pitted all to hell. anyways, i am pretty happy with it, except they left scraps of sealant all over my floor, and they took off my black mesa parking pass, and didnt put it on my new windshield
