No speedo

I lost the speedo and developed a trouble code on my 06 FXT this friday. I just visited our friendly neighborhood subaru dealer on thursday for a fuel injection flush and snow tire install and an alignment check, which all went well thanks to Inski. I figured I would run it back to have the code checked to be sure it didn't have anything to do with my previous visit and this is what I was told, after I drove down there. If it is something we did, then no charge, if it isn't something we did then it will be 98 bucks for the scan. 98 bucks? Autozone will scan it for free. Am I missing something here? Any way water under the bridge at this point. Considering it takes me an hour to drive there one way I had them scan it. Code was P0502 vehicle speed sensor low speed. I ordered the sensor and plan to change it out when it comes in. There really is no point to this other than to get it off my chest. Those who know me realize I am an ass, and speak my mind. I am just bummed that I feel like I should have gone to a cheapo box parts store to scan my car for free instead of getting (I don't know what word to even put in here that I won't regret later) by a company I know and love. Merry f'ing Christmas.

i would think it would be covered under your warr. seeings to me it seems like a piece of the powertrain which has a warr. for 60k miles

who is that?

Don't feel bad.

I ordered STi spats at EG, and wound up paying about $60 more than I would have online, because EG charged me seperately for pieces that were sold as a "kit" online. I was quoted the "same price" on the phone, but got a new, higher price when I got there because "not all the parts came with the spats".

Dealerships, in my 27 years of driving, have generally ripped off consumers.

EG is better than most, but it's STILL a dealership-IMO act accordingly.

This is not an EG bashing thread, as they have treated me very well in the past. I am just venting a little and trying not to piss off people I like.

yeah, timing is all wrong. Right after a recent service, and at Christmas. And I dont think we've exhausted all avenues of Scoobiality. There is more digging to do. Back in the trenches Monday.
